Our students have time to meet all their school requirements and to add to that by pursuing their special interests. Sports Management student Zvonimir Stamenov spends much of his time in the DUMP offices, the association of young software developers. The core of this Association is a few dozen college and high school students eager to share their passion for various technical sciences. Zvonimir heard about this group from a friend and attended one of their educational workshops. The hardware and programming summer camps have become traditional opening events for the academic year in Split, with over a decade of great success. Attendance is open to all who wish to improve their knowledge about IT.
Zvonimir signed up for the DUMP Internship program, which offers training in areas such as software development, project management, computer-aided design, marketing and PR, and multimedia. Zvonimir went on to become an active member of the Association upon completion of his training programs. His activities have included lectures at the programming summer camp of 2015. and managing the Photoshop summer camp of 2016.
The main event in the DUMP calendar is the DUMP Days Conference. Its aim is to bring students and employers together, in order to form connections and work together. This year Zvonimir was involved primarily in conference PR, however as he says there are no strictly defined roles in DUMP. “One of the main ideas is to achieve at least some basic understanding about what everyone else does, and so there is no fixed role for anyone. One day you give an interview to the media, another day you might be checking lighting installations or the sound system for the speaker.”
